Started my new position in Pleasanton and I asked my co-worker if she knew about any good Indian food at a friendly budget. She recommended Sri Venkateswara Grocery and Kitchen. Upon arrival, I immediately knew this was a modern and clean spot. It’s up-to-date, spacious, with a calm atmosphere. I was assisted right away at the kitchen with lovely smiles and wonderful customer service from Gayathri and Dimpal. I asked for their recommendation, and yummy-yumm, it did not disappoint!! I will be back for sure! Great place for clean, hot, delicious food at a decent price!

We have been to this place twice. The location is quite convenient, especially if you plan to do grocery shopping and grab a bite to eat afterward. During our visits, we tried the dosa, which was good. However, the chutneys didn’t impress me much.

The samosas were a letdown; they were too oily and served cold. The Mysore bonda also fell short of expectations, as it was served cold when we expected it to be hot and crispy.

Overall, I might consider coming back here only when I need to do some shopping in the area, but it's not a top choice for dining.

I bought a pickle bottle from this store, the pickle was all bad, spoiled pickle. I showed picture to manager and 3 other store employees but they said they cannot give the refund because I did not bring the bad pickle bottle back for refund. Who will keep the bottle and bring to store? Aren’t pictures enough. It was a matter for $3.5, did not like the customer service. Not doing grocery shopping at this place again.

Exceptional South Indian Cuisine in the Bay Area
We recently had the pleasure of experiencing one of the best South Indian kitchens in the Bay Area, and we were thoroughly impressed. The team's attention to detail, commitment to hygiene, and punctuality made our experience truly exceptional.
We were looking for authentic South Indian breakfast, chapati, and curry catering, and the team exceeded our expectations. They offered multiple options, accommodated our customization requests, and delivered the food on time. The packaging was clean, neat, and convenient.
The food itself was outstanding - flavorful, aromatic, and freshly prepared. We were particularly impressed by the variety of options available, including vegan and gluten-free choices.
Overall, we highly recommend this South Indian kitchen to anyone looking for authentic, delicious, and hassle-free catering services in the Bay Area. Their commitment to quality, hygiene, and customer satisfaction is truly exceptional.

Amazing food and place. It’s clean and well maintained. The food has very less oil. The dosa size is huge and it’s tasty too. Highly recommend the masala dosa at this place. I also tried the Tamarind rice and it was delicious.

We liked the restaurant experience here. The variety is amazing given how limited the seating space is. A lot of it was takeaways like I observed by sitting there.

Tried the Benne Dosa, Thatte Idli, and their complimentary free coffee.

Benne Dosas are 2 pieces in a plate, and more like plain uttapam in my opinion. The image of Benne Dosa in my mind was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. This was soft on all sides. Taste was good, and very reasonably priced. No issues there, but too much quantity for me. I wanted to try other things also but I was full.

Thatte Idli was awesome. The amount of ghee and podi they give is really generous.

Will surely come again to try other Dosa varieties and appetizers. Haven't shopped at the grocery section yet. Maybe next time!

We ordered their ghee roast dosas and ghee roast masala dosas at their kitchen on the right side of the store as you enter. They were so good that we ended up ordering 4 dosas. It tastes just like a dosa you’d get in India. So delicious!

Their Mango lassi is also a MUST TRY.

My 2 year old baby niece loves their dosa too. They are a kid-friendly restaurant and serve kiddy dosas (cone shape) as well.

There’s a grocery store on the left where you will find all your Indian grocery needs. The store is very well kept and quite clean. Their staff is very kind too!

If you’re looking to change diapers for your baby, there’s a restroom area where mothers should be able to find changing tables inside the female restroom.

Undoubtedly the best place for Indian Food, Chats and grocery. There’s almost everything you get here.

We also tried dosas here and they were one of the best we have had in the vicinity. Flavours were authentic.

Chats were really good too.
