Worth the wait, been on list of places to have food since I came across it a few years ago. Finally got the chance to treat my sister and myself to lunch. From walking in was blown away, lovely fire burning in the lounge room. Taken into our table by Stephanie, she remembered my sister which is always a lovely touch. The food itself was sublime, with each course tasting better than the last. Great table service with help on what to pair with the food definitely made the meal one I’ll remember. Can’t wait to come back and again. If you’re in the area and are lucky enough to get a table, it’s totally worth the money and time.

Ate here with my husband. 1st time being here. Couldn't recommend it more highly. Absolutely beautiful food. The Italian prosecco was light and complimented all courses.Quail starter so tasty and perfectly balanced. Venison was the dish of the night for both of us. Desert was amazing, tempted to lick the plate clean. Staff very friendly and helpful. I will be going back as soon as possible.

My first experience at a Michelin-starred restaurant wasn't great. The starter was excellent, and we really enjoyed it. For my main course, I ordered medium-cooked duck. I didn't expect it to be so much raw in medium-cooked duck. I'm not an expert on food and understand if that's how it's supposed to be, but I couldn't eat it. One of the owners served us, and I told her that I made a mistake and should have ordered it well done. However, she didn't offer any suggestions or another portion. All she said was, Sorry to hear that. Next time, you will know what to order. Basically, I left the place with an empty stomach and a bad experience.

What can I say? Perfection on a plate!

Best meal I've had in ages. Every dish was perfectly balanced flavour, portion size and presentation.

You could not fault it in any way.

Interesting rooms with perfect little details. Alcoves in bathrooms with candles. Glass bricks in walls near ceiling for light. Huge nook full of chopped wood on either side of wood burning stove. Comfy waiting sitting room with blazing warm fire welcoming you in on a chilly night. Lots of little details that add up to careful thought and hard work preparation!

Craft beer, normal beers and wines.

Warm bread rolls, fresh out of the oven.

Scallops in a lobster bisque sauce. Wonderful rich flavour in every mouthful.

Beef cheek, slow cooked, parsnip, celeriac and again an amazing sauce.

Pork belly, melt in the mouth with an explosion of flavour. Toulouse sausage and black pudding.

Perfectly cooked John dory. Light fluffy crispy skin. Amazing.

Fillet steak, mash. Nothing more nothing less. A small pot of pure heaven in the form of a reduced sauce. Magic.

All served with cheese gratin potatoes, and a sort of ratatouille, courgette and tomatoes.

Magnificent meal.

Deserts. Again perfect.

Rhubarb fool. Shortbread biscuits. Fool light fluffy full of flavour. Ruburb compote underneath. Served in a double walled glass floating in mid air! Excellent shortbread.

Banana custard with crunchy fingers and ice cream. Fizzy melt in your pop. Pops with flavour.

Cheese board. Excellent.

Baileys coffee, cappuccino, latte and espresso.

It is rare to find a place to eat where everything works seamlessly.

Friendly professional staff, superb food, happy guests and every course perfect. Easy to find 1 good course or another but EVERY course requires dedication from a team who should be proud of their work and results.

I cannot recommend this place more highly. Not expensive, good value for what you receive.

Second time here, all was excellent the first time. This time, probably better again, nice friendly staff. Well worth a visit. Edited review, third time here. Seems to get better each time. Lovely place.

This restaurant was a dissapointment tbh because it was scandalously expensive and the service was snooty. We had heard good reports and we were very excited to finally try the restaurant. We were expecting the meal to be expensive but 180 euro for two is a bit much. What really spoilt the experience (apart from the miniscule portions) was the attitude of the lady serving us. I had ordered venison which came with a carrot and parsnip mash, and when she asked us if we were happy with our mains I asked if I might have some green veg as none was provided. The server rather snootily replied, I'll ask the chef if he is willing to make you something. Eventually a grudging plate arrived with two miserable stems of broccoli on it for which we were charged an additional 5 euro !
I'm afraid I expect a better experience than that for 180 euro ! I won't be returning sadly.

Excellent all round. Food was amazing, tasted great and beautifully presented. Service was friendly and professional but not stuffy. Intimate setting with a chef's table in the kitchen which I'd love to go back and try another day. Pic is of banana custard but it was nothing like we used to have as children!!
