Stayed 18 - 25 September 2024, and had a great time (Irish husband and wife visiting daughters graduation at Indiana Uni Medical School) . A really good value hotel right on the canal. The rooms are really spacious and have a nice seating and kitchen area separate from the bedroom. It is a little dated but perfectly clean, well appointed and great service and value for money. The front office staff are excellent, particularly Devin. Very friendly and knowledgeable. |Facilities include a small pool and gym and a free buffet breakfast of eggs, fruit, cereals and coffee/tea with all day coffee in the lobby. The Canal walk is right outside and is great for a relaxing stroll. Easy walk to the Lucas Stadium, Conference Center and downtown area although at night you might want to use Uber as public transport and taxi services are not great, especially for non-Us citizens if you don't have a US Uber account or address (we are Irish).|At night time the area around the hotel is a bit devoid of pedestrians and is not really conducive to walking around. However, just across the street from the hotel car park is a great little bar/restaurant called The Social View. It has a great vibe and very reasonably priced drinks and meals with a nice welcoming local crowd and a lovely owner called, Shelly. It is a little Oasis in an otherwise featureless street scape. Highly recommended.|Nightlifewise, Indianapolis appears to have the main downtown area, a short distance from the hotel - a big shopping mall and bars/restaurants with all the usual franchises. A more funky alternative is in the Massachussets Avenue area with bars/restaurants, karaoke bars and craft shops. It's about 20 mins walk away or a short 5-10min cab ride. |A great bar near the north end of the Canal is Turners, corner of Roanoke and 10th St, right beside the Stutz Museum. Fantastic cocktails and free Pool table with a great funky vibe and cheap beers/cocktails. The Stutz Museum is well worth a look if you like really fancy cars from the 1920/30s, jaw droppingly beautiful cars from the gangster era.

If I was going to base this off of customer service alone it would have been 5 out of 5. Front desk Devin and Robin were great upon arriving and got us checked in quickly. ||We had an issue with the toilet and the housekeeper (guy with dreads) was prompt and fix our issue with a smile. I hope he had a great 67th birthday. ||The breakfast was a great addition. There was waffles, eggs, sausage, oatmeal, cereals, juices, milk, coffee and yogurt to name a few. The lady working the buffet could have been a little more welcoming.||The Room!! This is what prevented 5 out of 5 rating. We stayed in 115, a 1 bedroom suite. The room was spacious and has everything we need. The problem was the dirty carpet, couch was dirty and sunken in areas, the mattress in pull out should had been tossed in the canal. That mattress was horrid!! Stains on the front and back of mattress. I attempted to flip it due to it being completely sunken in the middle, but opted out because of how filthy it was. ||I would stay again as the location was perfect for us. I recommend cleaning a little more and tossing that mattress.

I was extremely dissatisfied with my stay, and my concerns were not addressed at all as if they were no big deal. This wasn't just an inconvenience, there were multiple issues. The room was pretty disgusting and doesn't meet Marriott's standards at all. My husband and I were only in town for the weekend and I chose this hotel due to the location and because it's "on the canal". The windows were so filthy that you literally can't even see out of them.
There was water constantly leaking from the toilet all on the bathroom floor. The bathtub was so dirty looking. The ceiling looked like it might cave in at any moment, water damage. Floor tiles were filthy. Major updates are needed. It just wasn't clean nor up to par. I spoke with the front desk, asked for a manager, I was told none was available. I was also informed that no housekeeping was there nor maintenance would be able to assist and there wasn't another room to switch to (this was shortly after checking in). All that I was offered was reimbursed parking -in fact, we were charged for parking anyway. I had to call a couple times to be refunded. We spend too much money with Marriott to be brushed off like this. I am hesitant on booking a Marriott hotel due to the way that this was handled. I am not satisfied. I've requested this be escalated to upper management, and no response.
On a positive note, the breakfast staff and lobby area was nice and clean. However, I 100% DO NOT recommend staying here.

Vengono servite soprattutto pietanze salate i dolci quasi inesistente a parte qualche muffin confezionato in plastica purtroppo.
Per tutto il resto struttura comoda e consigliata vista anche la piscina in lobby molto tranquilla

I normally don’t do this but this calls for it. We drove four hours from our hometown for a concert and we’re looking to stay somewhere that is walkable and isn’t gonna be complete trash. On our way there they called us and said that our room is cancelled for someone who was doing an extended stay. They told us they reserved a room in caramel which is a 30 minute drive from the hotel mind you we were planning on walking from the venue. It’s great to see they prioritize taking your money vs supplying you with the thing pay a pretty absurd rate for. 100% do not recommend go else where at all cost.

It was ok. When we arrived at 8:30 pm, we discovered the locks on the windows of our second-floor suite were broken, so the windows could just be opened without difficulty. This was a concern due to having young children with us. It took an hour and a half to get resolved, during which we couldn't unpack or get settled in because it wasn't clear if we'd be staying in that room or not. There were no other open rooms to move us to, apparently? Nobody seemed to have a solution and there was not much sense of urgency to fix this so we could actually use our room. Eventually the maintenance guy was able to fix it, so that was good, but by that time both my small children were melting down from exhaustion, leading to a lot of stress and frustration for us. I wouldn't expect a full room comp, but a discount or some type of perk for the hassle of not being able to use our room for an hour and a half late at night with little kids would have been appreciated and probably encouraged me to leave a softer review and consider staying here again.

The other thing was the pull-out couch was borderline unuseable and honestly should not count as accommodations for two people as advertised. There was a huge dip in the mattress/frame and you could feel the frame bar across the whole length, there was no position to avoid it. I am a non-fussy, non- 'Princess and the Pea' sleeper, and even I could not get used to this mattress.

The location on the canal was nice, though we did have multiple parties in the middle of the night blasting music and shouting obscenities that woke us up. Not the hotel's fault but something to keep in mind when staying here.

All the staff was very pleasant and helpful. The hotel did appear to be short-staffed though for sure, the pool was nice and reasonably warm but not kept very clean and the life ring was decrepit and would have been useless in an emergency.

Room was a satisfactory level of clean, reasonably modern/updated, as was lobby. Breakfast selection was good, lobby was nice, and outdoor areas overlooking the canal were very nice as well.

If there had only been one 'thing' with the hotel, I'd probably stay here again, but with the multiple 'things' mentioned above, and the particularly negative experience the first night, I'll likely go elsewhere next time I'm in Indianapolis.
